本升研:

双证是要有的,一般要原件的纸质版或扫描版,图片需清晰,复印件要多备几份,当资讯还没有发布时,就要下载好往年的文档资料,对照浏览,看看有哪些发生了变化,猜测一下今年的变动趋势。

GPA:

The study of mathematical sciences has intrigued me for many years. Thedecision to study A levels in both Maths and Physics stemmed from a highinterest level and strong aptitude in both subject areas. This was reflected inthe AS grades I received in June 20xx; achieving an A grade in mathematics whichhas inspired me further in my pursuit of the subject.

My interest has spread to computers and trying to link the two together hasplayed a big part of my life in the last few years. I have taught myself, usingbooks and other available sources, how to program in HTML and this has made itpossible for me to take an active role in web design.

My other academic interests include Business Studies, especially managementand finance areas which link with sections of the maths course. My choice toinclude a humanities subject at A level was partly encouraged by my need toanalyse and evaluate situations, Business Studies gives me the chance to do thisin great detail and I find it therapeutic to get involved in relevant

case studies. I am also taking an A level in General Studies which isincreasing my knowledge of political and cultural issues. The subject alsoencourages group discussions concerning current affairs and provides me with theopportunity to input my opinions.

For the last few years I have been a member of a Duke of Edinburgh schemerunning locally within the college. In June 20xx I completed the Bronze Award andam now working towards my Gold. This has given me a lot of experience inteamwork, problem solving and maintaining a high level of responsibility. Thesequalities have been taken on into a successful work experience placement in year10 and my part time job as a sales/management assistant at respectable retailoutlet Marks and Spencer.

Modern life is almost wholly dependent on engineering. It is everywhere and it is always changing, and it is this in particular which attracts me to civil engineering. I hope that in this field I can combine my knowledge and skills in physics and maths, two subjects which particularly interest me, and also work in an area which is both diverse and exciting. I am attracted to the prospect of a job which enables me to shape the world around me for the future and make a difference to people’s lives. Whilst I anticipate a challenging and demanding career, I also expect it to be very rewarding, especially when I can see projects I have worked on being built from start to completion.

I first encountered civil engineering during work experience with a local firm in October . Whilst there, I was inspired by the opportunity to apply my existing skills to real-life problems, and as a result decided to participate in the Engineering Education Scheme. As part of a team of five, I worked closely with qualified engineers on a railway embankment stabilisation project, and relished the chance to become fully involved in an actual engineering problem from start to finish. I experienced project management and report writing and gained invaluable team-working, time-management and presentation skills, producing a report which was commended by a number of senior engineers. Following this I attended a Headstart course at Heriot Watt University, and also visited Fairfield Mabey, where I saw ongoing work on various bridges, both in the design office and on site. During the summer I was interviewed by Costain and subsequently offered a Building Awareness Sixth Form Scholarship for my academic achievements and keen interest in civil engineering.

In March I was one of thirty students selected to participate in a five-day maths and physics event at Oxford University, and this Easter I also attended a maths course at Leeds University. At both of these I enjoyed developing my problem-solving ability and adapting my knowledge to new and challenging situations beyond the scope of my schoolwork. At Leeds I found I was not attracted to the more theoretical approach of studying maths and preferred problems relating to real-life situations, particularly a lecture on the instability of London’s Millennium Bridge, and I hope that this is something I can continue to enjoy throughout my engineering career.

I am currently working towards my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, in which I particularly enjoy the challenge of planning and undertaking the expeditions, and the sense of achievement afterwards. As part of the award I have set-up and run my school’s first sixth form netball team, further utilising my team-working and organisational skills. I am working towards the European Computer Driving Licence in order to extend my IT skills, and I am also a Young Leader at a local Guide Unit, where I enjoy working with the girls and motivating them to acquire new skills. Last October I was one of twenty Guides and Scouts who participated in the 12th International Space Olympics in Moscow, achieving one of the highest non-Russian scores in the competition’s history. This involved exams and a group presentation, and through research and preparation for these I was able to extend my knowledge of maths and physics into new, more advanced areas.

Through my experiences I am already beginning to appreciate the diversity which civil engineering will offer, and I hope to build on this by securing a work placement next summer as well as sponsorship for my degree. I have enjoyed my time at school and now look forward to the challenge of university and to a varied and exciting career in civil engineering.

以上各类公派出国留学申请人员都应能掌握相应国家的语言文字,能够比较熟练地运用外文阅读专业书刊,并具有一定的听、说、读、写能力,经过短期培训即能用外语进行有关学科的学术交流。出国大学生和研究生的外语必须达到能听课的水平。进修人员和访问学者必须参加国家教委组织的出国留学人员外语水平考试(EPT)并达到国家规定的分数线,或同一语种外语专业本科毕业,或曾在同一语言国家留学一年以上。

各类公派出国留学人员的健康状况,必须符合出国留学的规定标准,必须经过省、市一级医院检查并得到健康合格证明书(证书有效期为1年)。

凡符合上述规定的中国公民,均可提出申请。

国家公费出国留学人员必须履行按期回国服务的义务,

并与国家留学基金管理委员会签定《资助出国留学协议书》。该协议书由选派单位和公派出国留学人员双方签字,并经公证机关公证后生效。《资助出国留学协议书》的内容,包括国家和单位对公派出国留学人员规定的留学目标、内容、期限、回国服务的要求,向留学人员提供经费的规定,以及派出单位和出国留学人员双方的其它权利、义务和责任等。如留学人员不按协议规定履行回国服务的义务,则应偿还出国留学期间的全部费用。

The world is forever growing and evolving, as is the demand for new buildings and good infrastructure. The pressures of population growth and global warming are ever increasing, and civil engineers can help play a major role in designing more efficient structures, as well as planning projects in developing countries. I am attracted to me to civil engineering because I like the idea of helping to shape the world around me to meet the demands of the future. I hope for a challenging career which I will find personally rewarding and be able to feel that I have given something back to the community.

Academically, science has always been my main interest and is the area in which I am most able. I enjoyed biology, in particular learning about human impact on the environment. However, during my A levels I realised that my interests lay deeper in maths and physics. I enjoyed the problem solving involved within my subjects and the way a real life situation could be expressed and manipulated mathematically. What I found particularly interesting was relating what had been learnt in the classroom to real life situations, which is what gave me more interest in civil engineering - the appeal of a challenging career where I would have the opportunity to theoretically solve problems and practically apply solutions to have a beneficial effect on the world around me.

During my gap year I have had several work experience placements in various skilled trades such as building and joinery. Through joinery I gained an appreciation of the need for accurate design and construction, as well as a knowledge of the uses of wood as a building material. Though much of the building work I have undertaken was in construction, I found it to be invaluable experience. For example, whilst helping to build a garage I learnt about the importance of good design and planning by having to interpret the designs in order to determine how many bricks would be needed. During its constuction I noticed how important it was to build accurately, particually at the corners of the building which supported most of the weight of the roof. I also discovered the importance of keeping costs low, but the quality of work high. We made a different type of cement which was cheaper and weaker, but still met the needs for the inner walls. The most rewarding part of this experience seeing the project through from a plan on paper to its completion, and the feeling of satisfaction once it was completely built.

I have a passionate interest in music and have been playing guitar for about 5 years. I have enjoyed my time as a member of a band, which has helped me to work creatively as part of a team. More recently, I have also achieved grade 2 in jazz piano. For years I have had a great enthusiasm for skateboarding and in November began undertaking voluntary work with a group helping to plan and design a skateboarding facility in Kings Heath park. We were involved in preparatory work such as gaining public support and undertaking research at existing facilities across the UK, as well as its design. From this experience I learnt the importance of working as part of a team and meeting deadlines. Also, I gained an understanding of just how much preparation and organisation is needed, even for a small development.

By studying civil engineering at university I hope to build on my knowledge of maths and physics and learn how to apply it to real life situations. Having enjoyed my time at school I am excited by the prospect of going to university and learning more about our world around us. I hope for both a challenging and diverse career where I can help to improve the world for future generations to come.

申请护照手续:

中华人民共和国普通护照是我国公民非公务出国及在外国旅行、居住使用的身份证件。护照颁发属中央事权,直接关系国家的尊严和声誉,是一件十分严肃的工作。根据《中华人民共和国出境入境管理法》及其实施细则的规定,全国公安机关出入境管理部门对公民因私事出国实行统一申请办法、统一审批条件、统一办事时限、统一收费标准的护照申请、审批管理制度。

申请手续:

由申请人准确、完整、清晰填写“公民因私事出国(境)申请审批表”并贴有申请人近期正面免冠照片(小2寸,32mm×40mm)。

出境事由相应的证明有如下规定:

(1)出国探亲访友,须提交亲友的邀请信和邀请人在前往国的居住证明。归侨、侨眷凭其户口所在地的市、县侨办证明,60岁以上的公民,随父母(或监护人)出国的未满16周岁的公民以及出国探望配偶、父母、子女的申请人,免交亲友邀请信及亲友在前往国的居住证明。

(2)出国旅游,须提交旅行所需外汇费用证明(不低于4000美元或等值国际流通货币);或提交有出国旅游经营权的旅行社出具的全额旅游费用的发票。

(3)自费出国留学须提交接收学校出具的入学通知书或合法中介机构出具的有关证明。

具有大专以上学历的人员申请自费出国留学,须提交省一级教育主管部门出具的“自费留学资格审核证明”。公派留学人员,须提交填写完整的《公派留学人员申请护照登记表》。

(4)出国定居,须提交拟前往国家政府主管机关或驻华使、领事馆的定居许可证明或拟定居地亲友同意去定居的证明。(后者须提交亲友在拟前往国定居的证明)。

(5)出国就业,个人应聘就业,须提交前往国的聘请、聘用单位或雇主的雇用、聘用证明。由劳动公司办理的出国劳务人员,须提交有外派劳务经营权的劳务公司出具有申请人出国劳务的证明。由境外就业服务机构协助办理出国就业的,须提交有境外就业经营权的境外就业服务机构确认的申请人与境外雇主签订的就业合同。?

(6)出国从事商务等其他非公务活动,须提交国外相应的邀请函件。

邀请函内容应包括:留学身份(与申请的签证类型一致);起止日期和留学期限 (具体到年月,与录取资格证书一致);费用/学费支付情况 ;说明访问目的/留学专业。签证时邀请函或录取通知必须为原件,复印件或电子版无效。

5、到公证处办理协议书公证,其中一份单位留存的交所在学院;

寄宿应处理好寄宿家庭的关系,而如果住在学校便要处理好与学校的关系,遵守学校的规章制度。

出国留学虽然会觉得外国生活多姿多彩,但是应该要注意安全,尽量避免不要单独活动,学会保护自己。

记录好学校地址、联系人或接机人姓名、电话;准备好少量零钱、国际信用卡、汇票或旅行支票;准备好护照、签证、机票、学校录取通知书、健康证、学历等重要资料及复印件;带好手机、笔记本电脑等通讯工具。带上相关电子产品的变压器、转换插头、插线板,常用药品,衣物,个人证件照片及一些常用电脑软件。

留出充裕的时间到达口岸办理各类出境检查手续,这需要留学生朋友和亲属引起注意。

有些“老留学生”在假期回国后,办理了新护照,在返校时多次出现因仅持有新护照,而忘记携带贴有有效签证的老护照而难以的现象。提醒有这类情况的留学生,贴有有效签证的旧护照也要随身带,以免影响出境行程。

同时,须注意不能私自揭下旧护照上的签证贴在新护照上,这属于出入境违法违规行为,视为无效证件。

据海关规定,出境时,携带现金别超过2万元人民币或者折合等于5千美元的外币现钞。如果要超出这个标准,需要向海关事先申报,否则一经查出将会被处以相应的行政处罚。

很多家长担心孩子出国生活不适应、不方便,给孩子准备了很多食品及生活用品,结果导致行李超重,因此在过关时将被处以不菲的罚金。所以,切记随身行李每人不能超过20公斤。

有留学生都想带国内的特产出国,但有的物品会是所到国家所禁止入境的。例如:澳大利亚禁止携带乳制品、蛋制品、肉类制品等入境。

国外的老师比较重视:课堂积极性+随堂小测试+独立作业+小组作业+大考,所以,如果你不去上课或者想用一次考试就拿到A,在国外是不现实的。

在开课的第一堂,老师会发本堂课大纲,特别要看清楚大纲要求的书籍,本门课的算分标准和本门课的某些重要考试或测验时间。老师不会强制你上课,买书,写作业,但是最后出来的分数可能让你连哭都来不及。

上课的时候一定要记好课堂笔记,大胆参加课堂讨论,放心,就算你的英语口语再烂,都不会影响到你的成绩,能影响你成绩的是你一直像哑巴一样的过了一学期。很多老师不用教科书,会自己印发资料,或者直接上PPT,上课前花少量时间预习,一定要谨记课堂才是关键。国外老师最喜欢重复的话就是:你要好好听课,我考的都是我讲的,一旦你发现某个地方你没听懂,马上举手问,或者下课到老师的办公室去找他/她。

另外,一旦老师说分小组讨论,或者分小组做项目,主动找外国同学结成一组,一方面你可以真正认识到外国学生的思维模式,另外一方面,外国学生相对适应本土教学方法,和他们一起,是省时省力少走弯路。
